Registration open for GCOE-INeT International Summer School 2012: Sustainability for coupled humans and nature

Human transformation of ecosystem and landscape are the largest source of global, regional and local environment changes, affecting the ability of the biosphere to sustain life. Understanding coupled human and nature are key challenges for scientists to deliver the scientific insights and suggestions to develop the sustainable society under the changing global economy and environment. This summer school provides unique opportunities for Ph.D. international and Japanese students to learn field research, social system and analytical methods.
Participants will discuss current research findings and future direction for sustainable coupled human and nature. In the school, participants will approach from local community-based “sustainability for coupled human and nature” by staying in Samani town. The main aim of the program is to encourage the participants to develop future research proposal that includes international perspectives.The field training program will be conducted in Samani town and Sapporo campus of Hokkaido University, Japan.
This training course is for international PhD students.
