The Philippine LTER & DIVERSITAS Network envisions a society in which exemplary science contributes to the advancement of the health, productivity, and sustainability of the global environment. It consists of Research Networks of Scientists, collectively engaged in and dedicated to multi– and interdisciplinary long-term and spatial scale research and monitoring in ecological science. There are currently six LTER sites in the Philippines.

A National Committee was formed in June 2006. The headquarters of the National Committee is hosted by Central Mindanao University.
