The Brazilian LTER Program

About Brazilian LTER Program

The Brazilian Long Term Ecological Research Program, is a cooperative effort among scientists, students and funding agencies, at this time represented by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT/CNPq), which has an overall goal of developing a long-term ecological study following a central research theme and is guaranteed by a speciefic line of federal funding.

Brazil has been an active member of the ILTER network since 1998, including the participation in the coordinating committee.

The basic expectation of this network is to facilitate  the growth of both ecological research and the training of scientists in using integrated methods of research, concentrated around a central objective composed of five thematic lines of research.
