Korea Forest Research Institute welcomes the XXIII International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) World Congress to Korea. It is the third time the World Congress will be held in Asia and the first time in Seoul, Korea. Korea is proud to host this important event.
IUFRO is one of the world's oldest and largest international voluntary institutions committed to promoting international dialogue and collaborative research on forest science. The IUFRO World Congress is being held every five years. At its 22nd session, IUFRO selected the Republic of Korea to organize the XXIII IUFRO World Congress. The theme for the XXIII IUFRO World Congress will be "Forests for the Future: Sustaining Society and the Environment." As a key forum for international forest science cooperation, the World Congress will present an important opportunity to promote understanding of the forest's role in sustaining the planet.
There is a call for session proposals for this conference. Deadline 1 February 2009. See the IUFRO website for details
