The BIOLIEF conference will be devoted to the presentation of works concerning the biology, ecology and population dynamics of biological invasions.

The BIOLIEF conference will try to cover as many ecosystems and kingdoms as possible, giving each one of them equal importance in the definition of the final program.

So, we would like to invite you to submit an abstract to BIOLIEF. The deadline to submit an abstract, either for poster or oral communications, is May 31st 2009.

Those works relating to biological invasions and changes in the functioning of ecosystems will be highly considered.

If you make your pre-registration and payment before January 31st 2009, you will pay a registration fee of only 200€. This fee is valid both for students and non-student participants. After this date, registration fees will increase.

The BIOLIEF conference will be held in Porto, Portugal. The old city center of this northern Portuguese city was classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The river Douro divides the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, where you can find the world renowned cellars of Oporto Wine.

For further details you can visit the webpage www.ciimar.up.pt/biolief.

We hope to be able to count on your participation in the BIOLIEF conference.

Best regards,

The organization committee: Carlos Antunes, Ester Dias, Pedro Morais and Ronaldo Sousa
