ILTER, the International Long-Term Ecological Research Network. ILTER is a global network of national long-term ecosystem research networks (LTER). These networks consist of research sites located in a wide array of ecosystems worldwide. Long-term research and monitoring at these sites helps us understand environmental change across the globe. ILTER can contribute to solving international ecological and socio-economic problems and has the unique ability to design collaborative, site-based projects, compare data from a global network of sites and detect global trends.
